I have been giggling all morning. Flossy keeps telling me ‘If you die from a paper clip (I think she is thinking paper cut lol) I am gonna kill you”. ROTF Kinda redundant but okay, if you must. *rolls eyes* She doesn’t let on that she is REALLY worried but I can tell. She has said it about five times this morning. I keep it light but until she wants to talk about it, I just let her deal with it at her own speed and in her own way. She’ll pop down on the bed next to me one of these days and want to talk. We are starting to get the major cleaning done for inspection. The tub will have to be resurfaced again this year. Because I use so much really hot water, it wrecked the job we did last year and it needs to be resurfaced. Oh well. I am going with Flossy to Lowes this next weekend to get that stuff and the flooring stuff we need to do the kitchen floor. Since my slumlord is being his usual slumlord self, he will just have to deal with us patching it. Then we have to replace the small tiles on the sink that Frank pulled off when we were giving him a bath. Just call me Freya the builder…*rolls eyes* Well, good thing is...we will be able to handle just about anything in a house if I ever get a chance to buy one. Which will be never so it’s all good. *rolls eyes* We got our new vacuum yesterday at Wal-Mart. Holy hell. I didn’t realize that our floor had become so bad. The trains make it really dusty around here and a lot of it goes right to the rug. That and the cat hair from three cats and you can imagine that when our vacuum went out, it started to get BAD. We also picked up a little green machine and started washing the living room rug. Flossy had a blast washing it. Yeah, it doesn’t take much to keep her entertained lol. Frank and Portia waited patiently while Flossy washed the floor. They absolutely hate the old vacuum so as soon as we pulled out the new one, they took off running. They didn’t seem to mind the little green machine though. Not as noisy I suppose. At the moment, Portia is playing with her ball. I don’t think you can call it a ball anymore. The ‘skin’ of it is so riddled with rips and teeth marks, it only has flakes of it left. The foam insides have been slowly pulled out til there is only one little piece left. I know what she is getting for Christmas I suppose if I can find one. The damned cats have more toys than I have…ROTF.
OMG…I have a headache and went over to a site that had side effects from Humira. This is one of the entries from someone who took the drug: Compromised my autoimmune system and when I developed a cold and sinus infection, then strep A, my two paper cuts ulcerized, became infected, body became septic and I nearly died. Five days in ICU saved my life. Also was taking methotrexate 3x a week. The end result is my middle finger, which was infected, will be amputated. Word to the wise, if you take these medications, become ill, see your Dr immediately.* ROTF…I don’t even know what to say. My daughter says if she loses me because of a paper cut, she’s going to beat the crap out of my dead body. ROTF. * Don't get me wrong, I feel bad for the person... It is a horrible thing what happened to them. copyright askapatient
You know, being stalked is a real pain in the ass. My little moron from Yahoo is still coming to my page. I refuse to make my page hidden. I like having a public blog. I don’t feel like I should have to hide just because someone can’t get it through their heads they are no longer welcome in my life. I am thinking she will come over to my house next since she knows where I live and lives nearby. We’ve had a big red truck over here a few times and other cars that just come down here lately into our little dead end that have no business being here. I keep watch because I don’t want druggies, etc coming down here to do their business. If I have to get proactive about this, I will. Coming over to my blog just to mess with my head after I told her not to is considered cyber stalking. Now I have a friggin headache. *rolls eyes* I went to bed early yesterday and then woke up early. I was feeling pretty good but now I have a damned headache. The cats are up with me. It’s funny, no matter where in the house they are, when I get up, they follow me out into the living room. Portia is sitting right by my chair and after he sharpened his claws on my walker, Frank is looking for moths to chase. WE have the door open sometimes at night for a couple of minutes to cool off the house and we get moths in to visit. If we catch them, we send them right back outside but usually the cats chase them down and dispose of them for us. Blood thirsty heathens they are. *rolls eyes* I am getting an ear infection. Yesterday, we had a squirt bottle fight and I caught a stream of water in my ear. Friggin thing is starting to hurt. Be just my luck…swimmer’s ear in the middle of the friggin desert. *rolls eyes* I’m supposed to take my second Humira shot sometime this morning. It can make it harder to fight infections. Now isn’t that just good timing?? *rolls eyes* It’s still hot out here. Southern Utah is going to get some storms but I haven’t seen any up here in Salt Lake. Hopefully, we will get some thunder boomers tonight to cool it down a bit. I miss living back east. You could count on a thunderstorm every night after you sweltered through your day. Out here…it’s just so dry that it takes a lot of energy to get some rain with all this heat. I suppose I better finish this and go get it onto my many blogs. Have a good day all.
I hope everyone’s weekend is going fairly well. It’s getting hot as hell out here so I am up early and will prolly sleep through the hottest part of the day again today. Yesterday, the air conditioner was really having a problem cranking out any kind of coolness. The damned thing is on its last legs. Kinda like me. *rolls eyes* I can handle cold. Oh, I bitch about it and rant because yet again, the slumlord hasn’t fixed our heaters or we have to have mucho blankets on the beds but, damn, I can handle the cold a lot better than I can the heat. I guess I had better get used to it, they say in the news we should expect the summer temperatures to start climbing up each year. I swear, if it hits 120, I am building an underground house. I’ll come out when the temps hit 70. *rolls eyes* I just saw an advertisement for Budweiser beer. It said ‘The Great American Lager’. Man are they gonna have to change THAT one. I wonder if the Clydesdales are going to be changed to Belgians?? Busch Gardens will become ‘The Beer Gardens’??? I wonder if all those sponsorships and charity donations will dry up. There is a lot more involved than just a beer company changing hands these days. More than the look of the can and the taste can be affected. I Love these morning shows on the broadcast channels. On the ‘Today’ show, they are talking at the moment about banks closing and they have some little blonde bimbo SMILING and giving OBVIOUS tips for ‘protecting’ yourself and your money. I just wanna slap her. Frankly, I’d be more comfortable with some guy in a suit who might actually KNOW what he is talking about. Or someone who actually has some kind of financial degree might be nice instead of some bimbo reporter. God help us if that’s all we have for advice givers. *rolls eyes* I have had to look online for the side effects of one of my meds because it is beginning to really bother me. Hydroxychloriquine is great for my pain levels but it is really causing some problems when I go out to the store or something. I get nauseated because it causes me to get dizzy when I go down store aisles. I have been known to have my daughter haul ass to get me to the bathroom and hurl at a moments notice. Another, more visible (if that is even possible) effect is the skin problem. My daughter and I call them my ‘tattoos’. When I go out into the sun, it causes my skin to look like it has burned. Not like a sun burn, like a fire. It doesn’t change the actual physicality of the skin…it looks normal it just looks like I have had a bad burn under my skin. I first noticed it a few years ago and it seemed to start to fade. This summer, it is back and getting bigger. I noticed it the morning we went out to the dentist’s office. It has covered the back of my hands and halfway up to my elbows. You know, I keep wondering what the hell is going to go next. My hair is falling out, my hands and arms look like I put them in a fire when I was younger, my legs look like I have leprosy (hence the long pants 24/7 when I am out even in the hottest weather). I have had just about enough this morning. Yeah, I am just bitching. It’ll pass. But not before you have to read it. ROTF.
JEEZ Multiply!! I looked over at the side ad and it was an ad for Filipina women. Talk about sexist and just OFFENSIVE. Why, as a woman, would I want a damned ad from a site that treats women like possessions to be bought and sold?? (Yeah I know not literally but it's basically the same idea.) As women, I would hope the people that read my blogs would be offended. Are we pieces of meat? I think not.
Flossy is happy. Batman is coming out today. We usually don’t have money to go see whatever is coming out at the movies but I am going to save her some bucks to go see this one. We are HUGE Heath Leger fans and have been waiting for this to come out since we knew they were going to film it. I’m hoping it is still running in two weeks. *rolls eyes* Well, school registration is August 13th. Jeez, Flossy’s going to be a sophomore this year. If I remember correctly, her fees for school will only be about twenty bucks thanks to fee waiver. I don’t know how families not poor enough for services but still poor do it. It is crazy what ‘free’ education costs these days. *rolls eyes* Speaking of fee waiver, I haven’t gotten my usual paper in the mail yet this summer saying I am eligible for fee waiver/free lunch. I have to bring it into the school when we register. It’s the middle of summer so it should come soon. I hope. *rolls eyes* The wonderful slumlord showed up last night. For once it only took one call for him to get here. Our toilet needed a new float valve system put in. Not a big thing but I had been putting off getting one and installing it because it’s plumbing. I can’t get to the main shut off valve and I didn’t want to have the little shut off valve not work and install it incorrectly and have a great big fiasco. I called him and he said he’d be down in an hour. It was an hour and a half and I called him and he said he was a minute away. Of course it took him five minutes to get here from there. *rolls eyes* But at least the damned slumlord came. Of course, he walked right by the flooring that has needed replacing since before this time TWO YEARS AGO. Slumlord. *rolls eyes* Portia and Frank are driving me nuts. Damned cats want to play around and chase each other from room to room. They woke my daughter up yesterday and she wasn’t a happy camper when she came out into the living room. Here comes the heat. In mid-July, it usually gets REALLY HOT. It gets up to 105 or 107 degrees out here. It has been cooler than normal so far this summer so I am hoping it only gets up to 100 or so this next week. Thankfully the air conditioner is still cranking out semi-cool air. *rolls eyes* Flossy and I have been having water fights in the house all summer. We each have a squirt bottle and we have been spritzing each other every once in awhile. Man I regretted it last night. *rolls eyes* I was lying down in bed and she came over for a cuddle before she hopped over to her room. It was dark and she didn’t see that I had my spray bottle and I sprayed her. She went to grab it and the damned top came off and spilled all down my side and onto the bed. Holy crap that was COLD water! I have a fan that blows onto the bed because I get too hot so it dried up in less than an hour. I’m gonna get her good tonight.
It’s 4:33 in the morning and I can’t sleep so I am up playing with Portia. I have a dental appointment to fill two cavities this morning and I slept late yesterday so I am not sleeping much tonight. Portia is meowing strangely the last few days. I don’t know if she has a hairball or if she did some damage to her vocal cords or what, but she sounds almost hoarse. It struck me funny yesterday because she sounds like a damned frog but now I am getting a bit worried. If it’s not one thing it’s another with these cats. *rolls eyes* I have been trying to figure out my budget for the rest of this month and next month. I know you guys are just tired of hearing about it but it’s all I can think of these days. We will have to make a couple of trips to Wal-Mart next month to start getting stuff for school. Flossy needs just about everything again this year. She runs through school stuff and clothes like no one I know. Have the clothes gotten flimsier since we were kids? It seems that even sneakers and jeans don’t last very long these days. Flossy is getting a couple sets of scrubs, patches for her jeans and god knows what else I can afford lol. Bus passes are going to almost be out of our budget this year. I am hoping that I can convince the school to help out or Flossy will walk the 3 miles to school. (I doubt it that I can get her to walk it but I can try...*rolls eyes) I can tell her I walked farther than that to get to school and work but I am just going to sound like some old fogey. I still have to budget the stuff to fix the flooring and tub. We need to get that done before the inspection and I have no idea when that will be. It used to be mid-August but the last few years it has been the first week of September. God, let it go smoothly this year. I HATE dealing with those people. *rolls eyes* 8:51 pm I never seem to finish my blogs in one sitting lol. I started this one before I left this morning and it’s now night time. The dentist was HORRENDOUS. I don’t know why but today the Novocain didn’t stop the pain right away. He started drilling and I about came out of the chair. He ended up using three needles’ worth of Novocain and numbing my whole right side of my head. He pulled my jaw so bad that it ached and then really hurt. It’s acerbated by the arthritis and got REALLY painful. On the way home, I was seeing double. Literally, one guy was coming down the sidewalk on his bike and I saw two of him. The dentist said to come back in four months for a cleaning. I think I’ll wait til his rotation is done. *rolls eyes* I sent flossy off to the store. We are fast running out of money for the month and have budgeted REALLY tight. Except for a bag of cat food for the outside and inside cats, we are all set on animal supplies. I am glad we only have about two weeks left of the month lol. I also messed up my glasses. Flossy and I were waiting for a train to go by so we could get downtown to take Trax and we were goofing around. I hit my face REALLY hard and bent the hell out of my glasses. Not to mention, put a good sized bump on the side of my nose. What a day. *rolls eyes* Just how long til it’s tomorrow??
This is where Portia sleeps when I sleep…
It’s 4:54 am and I am getting ready to go to bed for the night. Or go to bed for the day if you prefer. The kittens are all gone. Jonathan came by yesterday (Friday) morning to take them to the vet. He never returned them so I guess he will find them homes. I know the kittens won’t be destroyed while they are with him because he is SO against putting animals down. I hope he can find them good homes. They were a lot of fun while they were here. Flossy and I will miss them. They had really become part of our daily life. Portia and Frank were looking for them all night long. Portia would call out and look inside the cages. They sure made an impact on our house lol. I downloaded Vue6PLE. PLE stands for Personal Learning Edition. It was free (the regular program starts at $89 so a free version was good for me, to see if I liked it or not). It will leave a watermark and a logo on all my pics unless I update it and buy the regular program. I don’t mind. I still get to save the pictures and try out the program for free. So far, it’s seriously harder than Terragen. I made a couple of pictures. You can add plants and if you buy the regular version, you can import buildings, poser figures, etc. For now, I have some plants, trees, rocks, etc. There isn’t much going on over here this weekend. I am going to try to catch up on my sleep and Flossy is going to the mall tomorrow with her friend. I am hoping to get her to finish her English assignments next week. She is 1/3 the way through one book. She better get a move on before I have to do the Mom thing and make her finish her assignments. *rolls eyes* I hate doing the mom thing. She hates me doing the mom thing. You’d think she wouldn’t make me do the mom thing. *rolls eyes*
I’ve been sitting here just staring at the open ‘Word’ document. I’d like to put up a blog but I really don’t have anything to say tonight. Of course, that’s when I put in the longest blogs of all time. *rolls eyes* We seem to be winning the war of the fleas. We bought a flea comb and have been picking through ALL of the cats’ hair. From the youngest kittens to the oldest, they are ALL getting sprayed, drops and combings every day. Portia had three or four up by the top of her ears. She is the hardest because she has the longest hair of all the cats. She loves the combing though so it’s cool that she will just sit there and let you comb through her hair. I started this earlier and couldn’t go to sleep so I figured I’d finish it. *rolls eyes* Of course that means I actually have to put something on the screen. *rolls eyes* We are inundated with spiders this week. Portia is, at the moment, chasing one across the living room floor. Last night there were two HUGE ones in my bathroom. I killed one but Portia chased the other one towards my bed. *rolls eyes* Damned cat. I took my first Humira shot yesterday and so far, no weird side effects. Of course, I never found out what I am supposed to feel so I have no idea if it is working. Or if it is even supposed to start working right away or is cumulative over time. I guess I’ll find out at my next appointment in September. Flossy’s friend has been coming by a lot lately. She finished her summer school and I think they plan on hanging out for the rest of the summer. Oh Goody… *rolls eyes* Flossy needs to get off her ass and go read her assignments for the summer. She also needs to go pay the library fine this ‘friend’ didn’t pay when she returned some books late. (Flossy lost her library card use for that little stunt.) The UTA busses/Trax have had their first rate change this year. The new fare is now $2 a ride, one way. I have no idea how we are going to get Flossy to school next year. A bus pass for the month is $51.50. Last year we asked the school if they could help with a pass but they said no. Now that Flossy knows the person to go see, I am hoping she can go get a monthly pass for at least a couple of months. It would really help. The pass is going to cost us 1/10 of what we get each month and that is just too high. I am hoping we have a bit of money next month so I can go with Flossy to see an art exhibit called ‘From Monet To Picasso’. It’s at the U of U Art museum and we both REALLY want to go. I am going to look up ticket costs later tonight and see if I can budget it in next month. Of course, next month is the month I need to get the stuff to fix up the house and get the supplies Flossy will need this next year in school. I know already that she will need six binders. For Pete’s sake, SIX binders. Not to mention the fees, the yearbook, the clothes. Luckily, all she wants to wear are jeans and scrubs. I am never going to get my bills paid off, I swear. *rolls eyes* Crap, I forgot about the credit card yearly fees due next month too. Back to the budget I go… I just looked up the tickets to “From Monet To Picasso’. 25 dollars to get in and they are reserved tickets for a specific time. Pretty cool that it is going well into September. Prolly run into school groups then but I hope we can get tickets anyway. Flossy would have a ball. She wants to go someday and see The Louvre in Paris. It has been a goal of hers, especially since she got to see part of it in The DaVinci Code. She wants to wander the gardens and see as much as she can see. My kid has goals, man. ROTF.
My landlord never showed up to do the floor like he said he would. Kinda figured that was what that damned slumlord was gonna do. Nothing ever changes over here. My daughter is off to the grocery store to get lunch. Groceries will be a bit tight this month but we will just be careful. It isn’t the first time I have had to budget so tight. I looked into the cupboard today and there were only two cans of green beans. Guess we’ll have to REALLY budget. *rolls eyes* EVERYONE got flea baths in the last two days. I am itching like a bastard. The kittens had just a couple of fleas but I am so allergic to them, it only takes two bites to keep me in agony for a few days. Of course, Portia and Frank wailed through their baths. The kittens got theirs today and were a bit miffed but more surprised than anything. Hopefully this will be the last time I have to give anyone of those animals a bath. It pisses them all off so much. *rolls eyes* Their cages and the rugs and chairs got treated so we should be all set. I am so glad this is the last litter of kittens we should have to take in. I just want to go back to our normal three cat lives… One of my bead catalogs came today. If I could get some stuff made and sold I’d be doing a whole lot better but I can’t afford the supplies just yet. I am hoping that I can start making rosaries and stuff again in the spring. I miss doing stuff with my hands. And I could use the extra money. *rolls eyes*
I thought you should see what my medecine would cost per month if I didn't have Medicare and medicaid. This is on top of my $600 Arava and and the other four meds. *rolls eyes*
I started this yesterday: Jonathan from No More Homeless Pets called today and is taking the two smallest kittens to the vet tomorrow. I’m glad because their eyes are still seriously infected. I have to wipe them out every time they get up during the day so they can find their food. I’m hoping he will take all of the kittens because the older ones could really use a dose of antibiotics too. Their eyes aren’t anywhere near as bad as the small one’s are but they are still infected a bit. If it wasn’t for their eyes, they would be able to be adopted right away. I trimmed my daughter’s hair today. I was tempted to cut it really short but she would have killed me. *rolls eyes* I couldn’t sleep tonight. I went to bed at about 11:30 pm and woke up to my bed shaking. I don’t know if we had a small earthquake or if there was a particularly large train going by but it woke me up enough to keep me up. Stupid trains. *rolls eyes* I usually don’t even hear the trains anymore and only rarely feel them shake the house. We have been here 15 years and I have gotten used to them passing by at all hours of the night. Portia is chasing yet another bug across the living room floor. I swear all the beetles in Salt Lake are in my house this summer. *rolls eyes* Ladybugs are good luck but hell; ten in one week is just too many. Frank chased a spider right up my leg tonight. I made sure he knew just how happy I was with him after that little stunt. *rolls eyes* My doctor hasn’t called my Rx in yet for the Humira. I don’t know why other than he was prolly busy and forgot. I was supposed to go in tomorrow to take the needle class but since the Rx wasn’t called in, I cancelled it. I’ll call tomorrow and see what the hold up is and set another appointment. Hopefully I’ll have my first shot by Monday. *rolls eyes* Today: Jonathan came and got the two smallest kittens. He took them to the vet and they didn’t come back here. He is going to take care of them and get them homes. He also brought a tube of eye stuff and some antibiotics that he blew up the older kittens’ noses. I slept through his second visit when he brought the drugs so he showed Flossy how to do it. (I hadn’t slept much last night and I was exhausted.) So we are down to four kittens. Jonathan wants us to keep them til they are six months old and he can get them fixed. NO WAY. My landlord will SHOOT me. Not to mention I have a housing inspection in late August/early September. I can see the damned inspector now… “Too many animals…FAILED”. *rolls eyes* So Flossy will give them their eye stuff and as soon as I can, I’ll try to find them homes. Since they are so damned cute, it should be easy to find people who want them. I called Jonathan back and told him so I guess we’ll have to see what happens. Guess who showed up today??? The slumlord from hell came by to mow the lawn. Actually, it’s no longer a lawn. It looks like a field of brush by now with all the rain we had a few weeks ago and the heat we have had since. *rolls eyes* I sent Flossy out with a rent check and he told her he would be here tomorrow to fix my floor. Yeah right. If he comes, I am going to tell him the float cup system on the toilet has gone out and we need paint to cover the cracks in my room that Flossy spackled. If he just does that, I think we can pass the housing inspection on the first try. We need to seriously clean baseboards, ceilings of cobwebs and everything in general. My blinds need to be taken down and wiped down. I noticed the bathroom one last night and I was so shocked to see all the dust. *rolls eyes* I keep forgetting that tomorrow is the Fourth of July Holiday. It’s really bugging me lol. The doctor’s office called again. The Humira hadn’t been in stock at the pharmacy so today it arrived and I have an appointment Monday for the needle class. I still have to send Flossy down to go get the Humira. Nice thing, the copay for it is only 3 bucks and some change. I will have to wait for the monthly form that comes to see how much it is really costing the insurance company because if they go over 2500 dollars for the year in paid scripts, I have to pay the script costs up to 4500 dollars. It will suck if I get stuck with a grand a month for the med. Just have to stop it then. If that happens, I have to pay for ALL my meds. One of which costs over 580 dollars a month. Kill me then. *rolls eyes* I just finished our budget for this month. Holy hell we are in trouble lol. All I can say is I am glad the kittens are almost totally on hard food and we only really need some animal stuff for this month and a few things we need all the time anyway. There won’t be enough for anything extra at all. I was hoping to send Flossy to the movies; she really wants to see Dark Knight. She is a HUGE Heath Leger fan. I guess I’ll have to see what I can cut back on this month.
I received a letter from my prescription company that said that they approved me to take Humira. I guess instead of taking a shot once a week with the Enbrel, I can take one every two weeks with the Humira. I called my doctor’s office and he called me back and said he would call the script in. I will still need to go take the needle class so I will have to wait til they call and make me an appointment to go in. Thankfully, I should be able to start it this week. I looked up the side effects of Humira and except for the cancer and infection problems, I should be fine. I’ll just have to be hyper vigilant in the case of any infections. I don’t want to end up in the hospital again. *rolls eyes* Flossy has gone off to the local mall with her friend. The friend has a belt on layaway that she needs to go get so it should be a short trip. Knowing them, they’ll see someone they know and it’ll be two hours before I see them again. *rolls eyes* Flossy still hasn’t started her summer reading for English class this year. I am going to have to get on her tomorrow and get her to reading. She has two papers to do (isn’t this summer VACATION??) for the class. I usually don’t have to hound her but it looks like this time I will have to get her started. Watch, she won’t get the idea of the papers and I’ll have to read the books too. *rolls eyes* We just had the kittens out again. They are getting better every day. The tiny one is moving about a bit more but still likes to park himself on my chest and just go to sleep. *rolls eyes* I could go into tales about males and my chest but I’ll keep that for another blog. *giggles* He worries me because he doesn’t like to move around. He needs to play with the others to get some strength and he just seems to be staying fragile. I still have to wash his eyes out every time he wakes up. He’ll prolly need some antibiotics pretty soon if he doesn’t get any better. I guess he’ll need special attention a bit longer. The other kittens are just streaking all over these days. They are still sneezing quite a bit but their eyes don’t need cleaning as much. It’s nice because they don’t need much attention except to play with. I haven’t done much with my graphics programs lately. I guess I need to go get those damned tubes all downloaded that are sitting in my emails lol. I was able to find some script plugins for Apophysis that had some cool effects for backgrounds. I downloaded the new Terragen. Holy crap, I don’t get it AT ALL. It’s so different from the first one that I don’t even get what it’s talking about lol. I can’t figure out how to do anything on it. I’ll stick to the old one. *rolls eyes*
Flossy is off to social services to put in some paperwork. It’s that time of year. My Medicaid papers have to go in, my Social Security papers have to go in and my housing inspection has to be gotten ready for. Bureaucracy is a pain in the arse if you ask me. *rolls eyes* I am so glad that my daughter doesn’t mind going to do stuff for me like give these offices papers. It is hot outside and it is just too much on her to wheel me around in this weather. Not to mention is wipes me out for three days if I try to go with her. *rolls eyes* Her friend is already downtown and is waiting for her. After they drop off the papers, they will come over here and spend some time with the kittens in front of the air conditioner. My daughter and she actually played Candyland the other day for a laugh. *rolls eyes* I am trying to figure out July’s budget and getting seriously depressed. There is going to be a serious deficit. And I do mean serious. *rolls eyes* I have to make sure that all bills get paid this month and the cats are taken care of food-wise right away. After that, a visit to Sutherlands to get some stuff to fix and paint the house and then we budget food. Welcome to ramen noodle hell. *rolls eyes* That and the bread store. Unfortunately, the bread store (where they sell day old and older bread) doesn’t take food stamps anymore so I have to get cash out of the bank. We’ll be going to Wal-Mart (god I hate going there) and getting our vacuum. Wouldn’t ya figure when I have no money the damned machine breaks down! *rolls eyes* Hopefully, I can put the vacuum on layaway so that I can spread the cost (about 50 bucks) over two months. If not, I’ll just buy it and pray REALLY HARD that we can make it through the month. It’s a friggin joke. I still need to go get Flossy all kinds of stuff so she can be ready for this year’s school. I need to patch jeans, get school clothes and get school supplies. She needs everything this year. Bras, scrubs, t-shirts. Not to mention her school fees and yearbook. *rolls eyes* Didn’t I just do this last year??? The kittens are doing well. They have been getting each other sick over and over but I think it is finally fading off. The two littlest ones I still have to keep an eye on and I am cleaning out eyes and noses every time they all get up to feed and play. And they are playing. Holy hell it’s hard to keep track of six little kittens at the same time. We have the living room cordoned off but they get into the kitchen every once in a while. They get under chairs, behind bookcases, under desks (which is a BIG no-no!) and on top of windowsills. Frank and Portia try to stay out of the way but the kittens are just too persistent. They climb up to see what Frank is looking at out the window or they try to get under Portia and follow her around like she is the momma. I’m glad my cats are so mellow because they could really make a dent in a kitten if they really wanted to. *rolls eyes*
 Frank, kitten sitting LOL.
There were a couple of things I wanted to blog about that I didn’t get into the other blog. It seems like SOMEONE is getting a clue. Some companies are returning the manufacturing of goods to the US. The cost of fuel is making it too expensive to manufacture goods overseas. Here’s how it goes: Steel from Brazil is shipped to China. China manufactures whatever it is that we buy. They then ship it to the US. The cost of all that shipping is making steel’s price go up so the people who sell the stuff are getting rid of the middle man (China) and now MAKING the stuff with supplies from here in the US. US Steel is going to get a boost from this, especially. For years it was cheaper to use steel from somewhere else but now companies are moving their manufacturing plants BACK into the US. ‘Bout damned time I say. I forgot to tell you that the Enbrel wasn’t approved for me. I guess you have to use Humira first and if you can’t tolerate it or it doesn’t work, then you get to use the Enbrel. That just sucks. If my doctor has wanted me to use Humira, he would have gotten me preauthorized for that to begin with. *rolls eyes* And yes, I need to go through the preauthorization all over again if he wants me to try that one. *rolls eyes* I am waiting to hear back from my doctor with whatever he wants me to do next. *rolls eyes* Flossy is once again catching kittens. As it stands now, there is one more inside with us and THREE more outside. Holy crap Mrs. Mistopheles had a ton of kittens this year. I am so glad we got her fixed! So we still have to catch more kittens. And clean out more eyes. At least these new ones don’t seem to be as young as the first two. And the new ones are REALLY quiet. I mean it’s almost Stepford how quiet and good natured they are. I am waiting to see if they kill me off in the middle of the night or something. *rolls eyes* If one of them gets up onto my chest while I am sleeping and stares at me, I am just gonna start screaming. Flossy just came in with the long haired twin (OMG they are so damned cute!) of the one she just caught. They are a light tan color and one is short hair and the other is long haired. The short one will be Virgil and the long hair will be Caine. Anyone get the reference?? Man I am old… *rolls eyes* Seriously, if you have cat food to spare or can get me some, it’d be appreciated. We seriously need kitten food over here lol. I can’t wait til I have to get them all FIXED. At least with the adults all fixed, this is the last litter of kittens on our street. As soon as they are old enough and their eyes are clear, they go to good homes. The last two Flossy brought in had eyes that were only a little gunky. It seems that they are doing what our kittens usually do…as they get older, they get over the disease. Portia is the only kitten from here that never got over it. She still has a bit of a breathing problem if she gets stressed out but it goes away after a few days. And all the kittens appear to be male. It’s good old Mother Nature at work. When there is little food and too many cats, there are more males born to 1. Have a good try at diversity so at least some will survive and 2. So no new sources of kittens (females) will be made until the population and the environment can handle them. Thank you wildlife management classes. *rolls eyes*
Well, yesterday was a day. A pain in the ass day, but a day. I am having a real problem with grease. Anything greasy upsets my stomach. It’s probably my body telling me it’s had enough grease and fat in my diet. We made a simple noodle and ground turkey dish the other night and less than four hours later, it upset my stomach. Bigtime. Yesterday, we went out to the UPS Store to send off my old hard drive for replacement and we stopped over at McD’s just for breakfast/lunch. I love their steak and cheese bagels so I got one. BIG MISTAKE. We were at the mall so we popped over to the movie theater and ‘The Happening’ was playing so we went in. Another BIG MISTAKE. *rolls eyes* I love M Knight’s work. It usually makes you think to figure it out. ‘Sixth Sense”, ‘The Village’, ‘Signs’ are all favorites of mine. I loved ‘Lady In The Water’ even though critics hated it and no one went to see it. It was a great little story and I watch it every once in a while on my computer. (I don’t own a DVD player.) Do not go see ‘The Happening’ unless you have a strong stomach and like violence for violence’s sake. Between watching a man let lions eat him, a woman forcing a hair chopstick through her neck, a guy slashing something (I closed my eyes so I didn’t see what he slashed) and a guy starting and lying down to get run over by a lawn mower, I thought I was seeing some kind of stupid slasher movie. It didn’t even have the horror of a slasher movie. It was just people killing themselves. The story was half-assed. The parts they should have expanded on (what was causing the phenomenon, the relationships between the people, etc) were so shortened that it had no substance to it like a usual M Knight movie. The only decent thing was the acting. Mark Wahlberg really tried to pull this movie together but even his acting couldn’t get off the ground because the writing for his character was so bad.
